After a month of beating down content in the Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns expansion I finally got around to experiencing ArenaNet’s largest open world encounter. The main antagonist in the expansion is Mordemoth, The Jungle dragon, who has up and decided to corrupt all life on Tyria. The entire final map (zone) of the expansion is dedicated to the Mordemoth event. You have two hours to escort the Tyrian Pact army across the map, while keeping them alive and morale high. At which point it’s up to players to destroy Mordemoth. After the two hours is up, if The Dragon is not dead he destroys every living thing on the map. The Hamm Burglar however would not fail!
You must defeat this Ancient dragon before he chews up the floating islands that are used by raiding players as defensive positions.(Mordremoth is actually three islands away from Hamm at this point.)
After disposing of some of the Dragon’s minions on my island I watched in terror as the island Torfur was AFKing on was about to be destroyed. There rest of the folks on my island were gliding on gliders and bombing Mordremoth to distract him. I would have done so myself, but in an effort to document the attack I accidently toggled my glider off and plummeted to my doom.
After defying the odds (and accidently dodging off my island twice) Mordremoth was slain.
